GANDHINAGAR, GUJARAT | 20th AUGUST 2026 | Karnavati University has launched the Karnavati Innovation Centre, in association with JioGames, as part of its efforts to strengthen industry-integrated education and promote innovation in emerging technologies and digital content.
The Centre has been conceived as a hands-on learning and innovation space featuring three dedicated zones: the Jio Game Experience Zone, Content Creation Zone and Instructional Zone. Together, these spaces will enable students to explore gaming and digital content, develop practical skills and take ideas from concept to creation.
Through access to the JioGames platform, students will be able to experience and create games, while the Content Creation Zone will encourage them to experiment with new forms of digital and interactive media. The Instructional Zone will enable the University to bring contemporary knowledge and practical learning in areas such as game design, game programming and the broader gaming sector to students in collaboration with industry experts and luminaries.
The initiative complements Karnavati University’s existing academic offerings in the field, including B.Design with a specialisation in Animation and Game Design and B.Tech-CSE with a specialisation in Game Programming. The Karnavati Innovation Centre will provide students enrolled in these and related programmes with an environment to learn through practice, experiment with ideas, collaborate with peers and professionals, and develop and showcase their work.
Mr. Ritesh Hada, President of Karnavati University, said, “The Karnavati Innovation Centre represents our commitment to moving beyond conventional classroom learning and creating opportunities for students to engage directly with industry. Our aim is to equip the next generation not only with technical skills, but also with the creative and entrepreneurial capabilities needed to become game designers, programmers, storytellers, content creators and innovators.”
Dr. Kusum Agarwal, Dean Academics at Karnavati University, stated, “The Karnavati Innovation Centre reflects the University’s continued emphasis on integrating academic learning with industry practice. By embedding platforms such as JioGames within the learning ecosystem, the Centre enables students to engage with contemporary tools, methodologies and workflows relevant to the gaming and digital content sector. It strengthens our academic framework by facilitating applied learning, interdisciplinary collaboration and exposure to evolving industry standards, thereby ensuring that students are equipped with both conceptual depth and practical competence.
The collaboration between Karnavati University and JioGames aims to bridge the gap between academic learning and professional skills by providing students with real-world exposure, industry mentorship and opportunities to transform their ideas into innovative digital experiences.
The launch programme featured sessions on “When Work is Play”, “Nobody skips a good frame”, and “Careers in gaming industry” followed by the formal inauguration and unveiling of the Karnavati Innovation Centre.
The Centre is not just a facility for gaming education, but a platform where students can engage with emerging technologies, strengthen their creative and technical capabilities, and gain a deeper understanding.
Karnavati University is a private state university located in Gandhinagar and offers multidisciplinary programmes across design, law, business, liberal arts, mass communication, computational intelligence and dentistry.
