Talgajarda, Bhavnagar 23 March 2025: Renowned spiritual leader and Ram Katha exponent, Morari Bapu, has expressed his admiration and a heartfelt welcome for Sunita Williams, the Indian-origin astronaut who recently returned to Earth after an extended mission in space.
Speaking at the annual function of Vidhya Vihar School in Mahuva, Morari Bapu drew a profound analogy to reflect on Sunita Williams’ remarkable nine-month stay in space.
He said, “Sunita went to space for eight days, but instead, she had to remain there for over nine months. It is said that when a child is in the mother’s womb, the child also holds the entire universe within. Mother Yashoda saw the whole universe in Lord Krishna’s mouth. It is remarkable that a daughter spent nine months in space and returned to Earth.”
Morari Bapu highlighted the spiritual strength that accompanied Sunita Williams on her space sojourn, noting that she carried a Bhagavad Gita and an idol of Lord Ganesh with her.
“From where did she get this energy and strength? She had taken these two things with her. Lord Ganesh removed obstacles in her path, and the Bhagavad Gita brought her back to Earth,” he said.
Morari Bapu extended his blessings to Sunita Williams, who has roots in Gujarat, and expressed confidence in her swift recovery.
“We remember this daughter with great pride and extend a warm welcome to her. In 45 to 50 days, she will regain her full physical strength. Lord Hanuman will aid in her recovery. I am confident she will soon visit Gujarat and India will honour her. It brings me immense satisfaction to welcome her back,” he added.
NASA astronauts Sunita Williams and Butch Wilmore travelled to the International Space Station in June last year for a scheduled eight-day mission. However, they ended up spending 286 days on the ISS as propulsion issues deemed their spacecraft unsafe, forcing it return empty. The astronauts returned to the earth on Tuesday.
