Davos, Switzerland | 19 July 2025: Renowned spiritual leader from India, Morari Bapu, commenced a nine-day Ram Katha in the well-known business hub Davos Congress Centre, known for holding the World Economic Forum meetings each year in January.
The Katha opened at Davos Congress Center, Davos Platz in Switzerland, where Morari Bapu selected two lines from the Ram Charit Manas Of Goswami Tulsidas.
Among the highlights of the katha was the presence of Guru Sharnanabda Maharaj of Raman Reti who compared Switzerland to heaven and said Davos was like Devas, meaning land of demigods.
Speaking on the topic of Manas Mahamantra, Morari Bapu picked two central lines from Bal Kaand. Chaupai 19 and 32. “Mahamantrajoijapatmahesu, Kasi mukutihetuupdesu. Mantra Mahamani Bishay byalke, metatkathinkuankbhaalke.”
Bapu also called the Ram Charita Manas a Mahamantra.
As a concept, the Ram Katha exponent said the biggest Mahamantra of life is ‘Swikaar’ that is acceptance.
He elaborated on the types of Mantra including Naam Mantra, the mantra of chanting the name of God. Others include mantra, laghumantra, maha mantra, gopya mantra, beej mantra, Veda mantra, sabar mantra which is lok mantra, Guru mantra and param mantra.
Carrying forward the spiritual essence of the Manas, Bapu brings to Switzerland his universal message of truth, love, and compassion — values that form the core of his teachings and connect people across cultures and beliefs.
Morari Bapu has held Ram Kathas at iconic venues across the world, including a landmark event at the United Nations Headquarters in New York last year.
This is his second Katha in Switzerland. The first was held in Interlaken, called Manas Swarg, between 15–23 July in the year 2017.
