AHMEDABAD, GUJARAT | 09th MAY 2026 | Ahmedabad witnessed the grand launch of the book “Voice of Unity: Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel and the Making of Modern India,” a scholarly work focused on the life, vision, and contributions of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. On this occasion, young scholars described Patel’s legacy as a guiding and inspirational force in the making of a developed and modern India.
The ceremony was held on Saturday at the Ahmedabad Management Association and was attended by academicians, public representatives, experts from various fields, and social leaders. The event was jointly organized by Young India Research Foundation, Dhimahi Foundation Trust, and Young India Publication as part of the celebrations marking the 150th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.
Edited by Dr. Ashish Patiwala and Ms. Sheetal Koisa, the book is a collection of research-based essays examining Patel’s contributions to national integration, good governance, constitutional development, and secular nationalism. Speakers emphasized that Patel’s ideals and leadership remain highly relevant for contemporary India, especially for the younger generation.
One of the major highlights of the event was that the average age of the contributing authors is around 32 years, making it truly a book “by the youth, for the youth.” Organizers stated that the initiative aims to connect Gen Z with the values of discipline, unity, leadership, and national responsibility embodied by Sardar Patel.
The event was graced by Gujarat Government Ministers Darshanaben Vaghela as patron, while R. P. Patel, President of Vishwa Umiya Foundation, attended as the chief guest. Speakers remembered Sardar Patel not only as the “Iron Man of India” but also as a visionary administrator whose ideas continue to guide the nation-building process of modern India.
The program concluded with a strong message encouraging young people to engage in serious study, research, and writing on subjects related to national leadership, constitutional history, and nation-building.
