SFA Championships 2024 Ahmedabad: Udgam School for Children Crowned Champions After All-Around Display

More than 14,000 athletes from 387 schools participated in venues spread across the city

Ahmedabad 26 November 2024: The SFA Championships 2024 Ahmedabad concluded with Udgam School for Children, Thaltej, claiming the overall title. Demonstrating all-around excellence, Udgam topped the table, accumulating 311 points to secure a dominant victory. Anand Niketan School, Shilaj finished in second place, while Gems Genesis International School rounded out the podium in third.

Rianna Patel of The Riverside School, Ahmedabad Cantonment, earned the title of ‘Golden Girl’ for her stellar performances, winning gold in athletics and football, along with a silver in tennis. Yohan Pandya of Anand Niketan, Satellite, meanwhile, shone as the ‘Golden Boy,’ claiming two golds and three silvers in swimming, and an additional gold in yogasana. Snehal Dave of Udgam School was recognised as the Most Valuable Coach.

Sports For All (SFA) is committed to professionalising, organising, and monetising grassroots sports, aiming to foster a culture that values and invests in sports nationwide. The championships this year ran until November 26, roping in participants from across Ahmedabad in a hunt for the best talents. This year, an impressive 14,764 athletes, aged 3 to 18, from 387 schools participated in the event.

The final day of the SFA Championships 2024 culminated with thrilling finishes across football and tennis. Anand Niketan School, Satellite, dominated football with a double gold in the girls U-16 and U-18 categories, while Anand Niketan School, Shilaj, matched the feat in the boys U-14 and U-18. On the tennis courts, Dhruv Ahir (LDR International School), Tavashya Dixit (Global Indian International School), Manan Rai (Cosmos Castle International School), and Luv Nagmate (Utopia School) claimed golds in the boys U-12, U-14, U-16, and U-18 categories, respectively.

Throughout the Championships, schools showcased their prowess across multiple disciplines. The Riverside School, Ahmedabad Cantonment, emerged as the best school in athletics, showcasing outstanding talent on the track and field, while Anand Niketan School, Shilaj, claimed top honours in speedcubing and yogasana, underlining their versatility. Winner Udgam School for Children dominated multiple sports and was named the best school in kabaddi, swimming, table tennis, and jointly in chess, solidifying their all-around excellence.

As the curtains fell on the event, SFA reaffirmed its commitment to celebrating the next generation of champions. Ahmedabad echoed with the powerful chant of “Ab Jeetega India,” symbolising the city’s pride in showcasing its sporting prowess and marking another significant step in India’s journey toward becoming a sporting powerhouse.
