Gujarat, Ahmedabad 21 March 2025: The FICCI Ladies Organisation (FLO) Ahmedabad bid farewell to a remarkable year under the leadership of Chairperson Kiran Sewani, whose tenure drew to a close on Thursday. The change of guard event was marked by celebration and reflection, and a special performance by stand-up comedian Gaurav Gupta.
Over the past year, FLO Ahmedabad spearheaded a series of impactful initiatives, touching over 10,000 lives. With 113 events spanning arts, culture, fashion, jewellery, textiles, handlooms, and field visits, FLO Ahmedabad made significant strides in women’s empowerment, skill development, and societal welfare.
Reflecting on her journey, Kiran Sewani said, “It has been a great honour and opportunity to lead FLO Ahmedabad. This past year has been a transformative experience, not just for the organisation but for me personally. It has been immensely fulfilling to witness the impact of our initiatives and the positive change we have been able to create. I am grateful to my team, our members, and all those who contributed to making this journey so memorable.”
Among the standout achievements of the past year was Sareethon, an event that earned FLO Ahmedabad a place in the World Book of Records for facilitating the donation of 1,000 sarees. The chapter also hosted Gulabiratri, a grand Garba celebration, alongside high-profile engagements featuring esteemed personalities such as Sharmila Tagore, Pooja Bedi, and Gaur Gopal Das.
Some of the other initiatives included a handloom exhibition in collaboration with Craftroots, a special Women’s Day event, and enriching retreats to Jaipur, Jawai, Mumbai, Goa, Patan, and Muli. The organisation also facilitated factory visits and conducted numerous CSR activities, including the distribution of bicycles to female students, health check-up camps, and skill development programmes.
Ms Sewani exuded confidence that FLO Ahmedabad would continue to touch newer heights under the leadership of incoming Chairperson Madhu Banthia.
