Ahmedabad 17th December 2024– Global Indian International School (GIIS) Ahmedabad proudly announces the successful unveiling of its state-of-the-art sports arena, a key milestone in its commitment to developing well-rounded individuals. The new facility was launched in a grand celebration, marking a significant step towards promoting physical fitness, mental resilience, and the values of teamwork and sportsmanship among students.
The newly inaugurated sports arena offers a wide range of sports facilities, providing students with ample opportunities to explore their full athletic potential. The arena includes dedicated spaces for basketball, football, cricket, volleyball, athletics, long jump pit, pickleball, and handball, making it a central hub for athletic development.
To commemorate the opening of the new sports arena, GIIS Ahmedabad hosted the GIIS Inter-School Sports Fest 2024, a two-day event that brought together young athletes from schools across Ahmedabad. The festival featured thrilling competitions in football and basketball, with categories including:
Football: Under-10 Boys and Under-15 Boys and Girls
Basketball: Under-11 Boys and Under-14 Boys and Girls
A total of 48 teams from 22 schools competed in the football and basketball tournaments, enhancing the excitement and competitive energy of the event. Schools like LML School, DPS Gandhinagar, The Riverside School, Apollo International School, Army Public School, and several others participated, all coming together to celebrate the true spirit of sportsmanship.
