GUJARAT, AHMEDABAD | 08th JANUARY 2026 — Chief Minister Bhupendrabhai Patel inaugurated the 20th GIHED Property Olympiad, organised by CREDAI Ahmedabad GIHED, on Thursday. The exhibition, featuring more than 400 projects across multiple segments, is taking place at the GMDC Ground and will remain open to the public from January 9 to 11.

Forest and Environment Minister Arjun Modhwadia. Also present were Hon’ble Mayor of Ahmedabad Mayor Pratibha Jain, Shekhar Patel, National President of CREDAI, and Jaxay Shah, Chairman of Quality Council of India, were also present at the inauguration.

The GIHED Property Olympiad has emerged as a key platform for showcasing verified real estate projects in and around the city, and has come to symbolise progress, innovation and excellence in one of India’s fastest-developing cities.

Addressing the gathering, Chief Minister Bhupendrabhai Patel, emphasised the key role of the real estate sector in Ahmedabad’s growth, and assured continued support of the government.

“Today is a historic day as the Somnath Swabhimaan Parv has begun under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership. Be it the Somnath Temple or our nation, there have been repeated attempts to weaken us, yet we have always emerged stronger. Our ability to overcome challenges is our greatest strength,” he said.

The Chief Minister further said, “This is truly Ahmedabad’s decade. The city’s growth will be a matter of pride for all of us. We must always think big. I congratulate CREDAI Ahmedabad for organising this timely and impactful Property Olympiad, This is the right moment for such an initiative.”

He called upon the real estate sector to focus on green and sustainable development through efficient water use, rainwater harvesting and enhancing green cover.

Aalap Patel, President of CREDAI Ahmedabad, said that the GIHED Property Olympiad features a diverse mix of more than 400 projects, including affordable and premium housing, commercial and industrial developments, weekend homes, and plotted projects, from over 60 leading developers.

He also expressed his strong belief that the investment made in real estate in Ahmedabad in 2026 will give at least four times the return on the day of the closing of the Commonwealth Games, which will make every Ahmedabadi very excited and happy. And that is why we say that *“This is Ahmedabad’s decade and yours too,”* he said.

Visitors to the show will have the opportunity to explore a wide range of options under one roof. Financial institutions are also taking part in the exhibition to assist prospective buyers with loans and financing solutions.

Rajesh Vaswani, Chairman of CREDAI Ahmedabad, said the 20th edition assumes added significance as the city prepares for a new phase of infrastructure-led growth.

“Ahmedabad’s selection as the host city for the 2030 Commonwealth Games and its plans to bid for the 2036 Summer Olympics have placed the city firmly on the global map. The Property Olympiad offers a timely platform and opportunity for buyers and investors to participate in this growth,” Vaswani said.

The first day of the show on Friday will also feature YouthCon, an initiative aimed at empowering the young generation through meaningful conversations. It will be inaugurated in the presence of youth icon and Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghavi as the Chief Guest.

Ahmedabad’s real estate sector has witnessed renewed momentum in recent times. Large-scale infrastructure development linked to global sporting events is expected to catalyse investments and drive demand across residential, commercial and allied segments, strengthening the city’s long-term economic prospects.
