Gujarat, Ahmedabad 31 March 2025: I had the privilege of joining in the joy and festivities of the Biharis twice this Chaitra in Ahmedabad. The connection between Gujarat and Bihar dates back to ancient times. According to mythology, Mata Sita traveled to Dang, specifically the Dandakaranya region of Gujarat, with Lord Rama. This was highlighted by Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel during his speech at the Bihar Sthapana Mahotsav and Holi Milan Samaroh, organized by the Bihari Samaj Seva Trust in Vatva, Ahmedabad on Sunday. He also extended his congratulations to the organizers for the successful event.
In contrast, Bhojpuri film actor, singer, and Delhi MP Manoj Tiwari expressed that the program’s goal is to advocate for the idea of “One India.” He pointed out that the festival of one state is now celebrated in another, highlighting how Gujarat’s festival occurs in Kashi, Patna, while Bihar’s festival is held in Gujarat. This initiative enables individuals from various states to gain insights into each other’s cultures, thereby reinforcing our unity. When he started singing Bhojpuri songs at the event, the pandal was filled with enthusiastic applause.
Speaking at the event, Updesh Giri, the national president of the organization, emphasized that we can never fully repay our debt to the land of Gujarat, which serves as our karmabhoomi and the birthplace of our children. He expressed gratitude to Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, MP Manoj Tiwari, city mayor Pratibha Jain, former Home Minister Pradeep Singh Jadeja, Vatva MLA Babu Singh Jadav, Bapunagar MLA Dinesh Singh Kushwaha, and all the saints and guests present.
During the event, organization officials honored Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, MP Manoj Tiwari, Mayor Pratibha Jain, former Home Minister PradipsinhJadeja ,Vatva MLA Babu Singh Jadav, Bapunagar MLA Dinesh Singh Kushwaha, former MLA Himmat Singh Patel, along with all the saints and mahants, presenting them with garland of flowers, shawls, and mementos.
National Vice President Shailesh Singh noted that the performances by popular Bihari artists, including singer Nisha Upadhyay, singer Pramod Tiwari, singer Aradhya Sharma, singer Mati Ke Lal Anil Yadav, and announcer Uttam Bihari, brought vibrancy to the occasion. The program was a resounding success, attracting thousands of attendees from Ahmedabad, Rajkot, Baroda, and Bihar.
