Ahmedabad, October 2026: What happens when classrooms transform into Parliament, international forums, boardrooms, courtrooms and newsrooms? At GLS IGNITOR MUN 5.0, students stepped into these real-world spaces to debate, negotiate, create, strategize and experience learning beyond textbooks.
GLS University successfully hosted the 5th edition of GLS IGNITOR MUN 5.0 from September 25 to September 27, 2026, bringing together 1,000+ young delegates across 11 diverse committees for a three-day immersive experience built around the theme of learning, innovation and leadership. Under the visionary leadership of GLS University President Shri Sudhir Nanavati, the event provided students with a platform to engage, learn and explore beyond the classroom. Executive Director of GLS University Chandni Kapadia played a key role in fostering an environment that encourages innovation, experiential learning and the holistic development of young minds.
Positioned as more than a conventional Model United Nations, IGNITOR MUN 5.0 created an environment where students could explore different fields and perspectives while developing skills such as critical thinking, communication, collaboration, decision-making and strategic thinking.
The event featured 11 committees, each offering participants a distinct simulation of real-world institutions and professional environments. These included Lok Sabha, Gujarat Legislative Assembly, AIPPM, UNGA DISEC, UNHRC, Dalal Street, Young CEO, International Press, Open Design Dimension, The Courtroom and ECOSOC.
From discussing matters of governance and diplomacy to navigating business decisions, legal perspectives, media responsibilities and economic scenarios, the committees encouraged students to move beyond prepared answers and think on their feet.
A distinctive feature of IGNITOR MUN 5.0 was its emphasis on immersive learning beyond traditional MUN formats. The event introduced two specially curated workshops — BrainBot and Spotlight — designed to expose participants to emerging areas of technology and creative expression.
BrainBot, centred around Artificial Intelligence and Prompt Engineering, introduced students to the possibilities of emerging technology. The workshop encouraged participants to understand how AI tools can support creativity, problem-solving and innovation, while developing curiosity around the rapidly evolving technological landscape.
In contrast, Spotlight brought students into a creative and performance-oriented environment, encouraging self-expression, confidence, communication and collaboration. It gave participants an opportunity to step outside their comfort zones and discover the power of creative expression.
Together, the two experiences added another dimension to IGNITOR MUN 5.0 — demonstrating that meaningful learning can happen through debate, technology, creativity, performance and real-world simulations alike.
The event also carried a larger message for young learners: the skills required for the future go beyond academic knowledge. The ability to question, communicate, collaborate, adapt, innovate and make informed decisions is becoming equally important in an evolving world.
With 11 committees, immersive workshops and a prize pool of ₹3.5 lakh, GLS IGNITOR MUN 5.0 brought together competition and learning in a format designed to encourage students to discover their individual strengths and explore possibilities beyond conventional academic pathways.
The successful culmination of GLS IGNITOR MUN 5.0 reflects GLS University’s continued emphasis on creating opportunities where students can learn differently, think differently and experience the world beyond the classroom — preparing them to approach the future with curiosity, confidence and a spirit of innovation.
